Back in the 1850s, my ancestors emigrated from London and Dublin and settled in what is now Newport Beach, California, to be part of Californiaās rapid expansion.
I grew up where starting a business was just normal life, so I launched my first company in 1993 when I was 14. My M&A career started on the other side. In 2000, I began as a buyer of companies.
I learned exactly what makes a business truly valuableāa perspective I now use every day to get maximum value for my sellers.
In 2017, a friend said something that changed everything: āYou love helping people, and youāre great at making deals happenāyou should be the one selling companies.ā I listened.
I found a mentor who had closed over 1,000 deals in nationwide, and I hit the ground running with 15 businesses for sale in my first month.
Today, Iām with one of the top national business advisory firms, based in beautiful San Diego. I work remotely, serving the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.
Hereās what drives me: nationally, only about 12% of listed businesses actually sell. For most owners, their business is their biggest, most important asset. When a sale fails, itās not just disappointingāit can delay retirement, block the next chapter, and create years of uncertainty.

When Iām not working on deals, Iām usually enjoying Californiaāhiking, visiting places like the San Francisco Symphony and Yosemiteāor diving into stock options and flipping homes for fun.
